Now, you think I am using exaggeration or embellishing the background of this story, for good copy? See the actual listing of the Board members on the website of Theranos, if you don’t believe me, momma!
This formidable Lab Company is set to take over the Lab Industry of America. And it has been silently, and precisely planned like the American invasion of Panama. Except General Noriega is not going to be caught in a church wearing womens’ clothes, the behemoth lab companies Quest and Lab Corp will be donning that garb.
To show the forethought of this campaign to forever change the industry of Laboratory Medicine in America, and perhaps the world, one only needs to note that the takeover has already started, with nary a ripple in the press.
The company already has agreements in place with Walgreens, the largest retail pharmacy chain in America, with stores on every corner in the country.
Once the company has completed the silent, peaceful takeover of Walgreens, they have a rock-solid plan to execute their campaign. They have the technology to do extensive lab testing with microscopic samples of blood for very inexpensive rates. And the results are given to the PATIENT, accessible to patients in a few hours, on their iPhone. And that fact itself is a huge change in the practice of Lab Medicine, as we know it.
Read the website of Theranos to see the details of their technology, and the super-low prices of their labwork. See the interview of the CEO, Elizabeth Holmes by Eric Topol MD, the Dean of Digital Medicine.
And see a recent article in Wired Magazine further describing the seismic changes in store for America Lab Medicine.
It is heard in some hallways, that Elizabeth Holmes is the next Steve Jobs. Time will tell
But it appears to me that, like Jobs, she believed, as he did, that….
“the people that are crazy enough to think they can change the world, ARE the ones that can…..”
